Inside the Plank
Five layers, each doing a specific job. This is what separates a floor built to a specification from one picked off a container.
- 1 BrandShield™ UV Topcoat Double-pass alumina, UV-cured. The layer you actually walk on, and the one that decides how the floor looks in year fifteen.
- 2 20 Mil Wear Layer Commercial-grade thickness, on a 6mm plank. Most 6mm vinyl in Canada carries 12 mil.
- 3 High-Definition Décor Film Authentic wood grain, wood embossed and finished with a four-sided micro-bevel so every board reads as a plank.
- 4 4.5mm Rigid SPC Core High-density stone-polymer composite. Rigid rather than flexible, so it stays flat through Ontario's humidity swings. 100% waterproof.
- 5 1.5mm Acoustic Pad Pre-attached to every plank. Softens every step and quiets the room at IIC 73 — no separate underlayment to buy or install.
- 6 Micro-Bevel Edge & Välinge 5Gi Locking System A fine micro-bevel on all four sides, so every board reads as an individual plank and lipping is prevented. Below it, the Välinge 5Gi profile — 2G click along the lengths, Drop-Lock on the ends. No glue, tighter joints, faster install.
